Cathy Patton, Flute
Cathy Patton has worked as a freelance performing musician in the Eugene-Springfield area for the past 11 years, and has taught flute privately for over nine years. She has performed with groups such as the Trillium Trio, Lunazul, The Oregon Mozart Players, The Eugene Opera, and the Eugene Symphony, as well as extensive duo performances with her pianist husband, Neil. Cathy’s musicality, tone and professionalism have repeatedly inspired praise from fellow performers, audiences and clients.
Elizabeth Hoffman, Flute
Elizabeth Hoffman earned both her M.M. and D.M.A. in flute performance from the University of Oregon and her B.A. from the University of Minnesota, Morris. She currently teaches flute at Lane Community College and maintains an active private studio in Eugene. Her primary teachers were Jeanne Richards of UMM, and Richard Trombley of the University of Oregon. Elizabeth has also participated in master classes with Donald Peck, Bernard Goldberg, John Solum, Jim Walker, Christina Smith, Janet See, Mary Karen Clardy and Michel Debost. She has performed with both the Oregon Mozart Players and the Oregon Festival of American Music. Elizabeth is an active recitalist and freelance performer. She also enjoys playing chamber music with the Jaliph Trio.
Peter Thomas, Guitar
Peter Thomas has been active as a classical guitar performer, composer and teacher for more than 35 years. An experienced recitalist, he has performed in concerts of both solo guitar and ensemble music on both coasts. Peter has been very active in chamber music performances performing with flute, violin, 'cello, percussion, guitar duos and quartets, solo vocalists and choirs. A specialist in flute and guitar duos Peter has performed in several long term ensembles: Aeolia (10 years), Nightclub (5 years), Bach and Beyond (8 years) and over 100 performances. Peter joined Lunazul in 2006. A long term collaboration with flutist and composer Alan McCullough lead to the recording and book of their co-composed duos entitled Discovery. As a recording artist, Peter has released two solo guitar albums: Tradition and Imagination and Confluence. Peter composed and recorded the music for the video In Shadow and Light on the work of Maxfield Parrish and nationally released by Studio One Productions.
